Hey Folks,
First time using Mandrake here. I come from a *BSD background.
I'm doing some work helping out a friend of mine who has installed
Mandriva 2006. The MySQL client/server/libmysqldevel packages are
installed, however a very important binary called "mysql_config" in
inexplicably missing. In short, I am unable to compile any programs
which will use MySQL because they complain about not being able to find
"mysql_config". I've searched the entire filesystem and the file is
simply not there. Any ideas? What package am I to install to get this
file?
And other quick thing. I have some experience with Debian and it's
apt-get system and of course the *BSD ports system. Does Mandriva 2006
have a similar tool for installing and upgrading packages without having
to worry about dependencies? Thanks.
Matt
we have and use 'urpmi' (command line) and 'gurpmi' (gui)
setup the sources on easy urpmi, in 2006 (December snapshot)
lib64mysql15-devel
