I changed to broadband a couple of days ago and had network set up and

Are you using a router or is your pc getting its ip address from the modem?

It's a dynalink 1320 modem router with IP 192.168.1.1 which is it's
default. I have set my main PC as 192.168.1.3 and other PC is
192.168.1.2 They are connected using an ethernet switch. It works but
just hadn't kept the setting. I had to go back into /etc/resolv.conf
and reset the nameservers to new ISP again.
