I tried uninstalling xmms and streamtuner, and then reinstalling, but xmms still won't play mp3's. Given the original problem with mp3's and konq/audiocd, there seems to be something quite weird going on with mp3's on that box. A big problem, since she wants to listen to music all the time with that box. If I can't make this work well, I might start hearing grumbles about MD - gotta keep her happy with MD, or she'll want windows back..... :-) RJH> XMMS has played MP3s "out of the box" on every Mandrake/Mandriva RJH> install I've ever done.
