Glad to hear you have a backup.

The only gotcha, as ET referred to above, is that if you copy the files over
from your backup, the UID might be wrong for your user account. It should not
be, if you did an upgrade. The user accounts should stay the same, AFAIK.

Even doing a clean install from 9.2 to 2006, that's all I did, just copied my
data over to the new machine and all was fine. Of course, I'm always user
#1...and the only user on this box! ;)

Still a mystery why an upgrade would wipe your home dir/partition, tho :-\
