Hi *

I have an old laptop (Armada E500) with a dual bootup
(win2k, mdk10.1). Though I'm very satisfied with my
setup, the hdd is too small for my current needs, so I
though on buying an external hdd (usb) or usb pen
disk. But, my laptop does not boot from usb (at
least, I do not see any usb BIOS related entries).
Meanwhile, my CD drive has broken.

So, presently my laptop can only boot up from floppy
diskettes.

I just saw the new mandriva flash distro (usb pen
disk), and while reading the FAQ I found out this
question/answer:

"How do I boot Mandriva Flash if my computer can not
boot from USB?

A small bootable CD-ROM image is present on the shared
partition of the Mandriva Flash USB key. It is only
3MB, so it can be burnt on a credit-card sized CD-ROM.
You can then make your computer boot on this CD-ROM
(and make sure your Mandriva Flash USB key is
plugged), it will automatically use the Mandriva Flash
USB key. Once Mandriva Flash is booted, you can eject
the CD-ROM. "

Is there a way to boot up from a diskette or set of
diskettes?

Cheers,
Nuno

P.S.
Armada 500, 12GB internal hdd, 512 RAM
