In the archive you will be able to find a few hints
(go at it with google)
nvidia users wanting to use acceleration have to
download one of nvidia drivers (I don't know the
details not having one but the subject comes over and
over on this list) I assume they have it on their
web-site
The ATI Xpert 128 pro was also mentionned I believe
one must have 4.1 but I am not sure.
In any case it would be interesting to see the
XF86Config[-4](some distro -RH7.x for instance-give
you both 3.3.6 and 4.x.x in such case they also give
you two XF86Config the one for 4.x.x being named
XF86Config-4)
Usually for 4.x.x (I am no expert an must be careful)
no screen found means that your XF86Config[-4] has no
valid subsection display in the section screen...
This can be due to
1. having a default depth and no subsection display
with that depth,
2. having mode lines which the combination graphic
card / monitor cannot support
3. having a graphic device which does not have a valid
driver
4. having some syntax error in the screen section
5. not having any screen section (I hope it should not
occur in the configuration...)
6. specifying a non existant screen in the server
layout section (should also not occur)

anyhow, the best way to proceed is:
1. to backup the curren XF86Config[-4]
2. run Xconfigurator (some people on this list don't
like it, possibly rightly so, I personally did not get
into trouble with it) OR
run XFree86 -configure (in this case I think a
XF86Config.new will be created in the home directory
resp. /root if you run it as root and you will have to
move it into /etc/X11 and rename it according to the
logic used in your distro)
3 try to run X using startx I like to redirect the
log and run:
 startx 2>mylogfile
If you still have problems you can then post again
with both your XF86Config[-4] and your log
