I have version 4 of X windows installed on my Suse Linux 7.0 with kernel 2.2.16. I am not able to view pdfs in acroread because of an X error that alway comes up.
Usually the error message in Acrored reads: "Segment violation cought" Sometimes acroread doesnt start at all and the message in the console reads: Exited with error code: 0x400e0009. one time I repeatedly tried to open new documents until the acroread application terminated and gave the following message in the console: X Error of failed request: BadWindow (invalid Window parameter) Major opcode of failed request: 38 (X_QueryPointer) Resource id in failed request: 0x1c002c3 Serial number of failed request: 24374 Current serial number in output stream: 24374 Does anyone know this problem and how to solve it? Do these messages mean anything to you?
