I found something that deals with my problem after quite a bit of
research but I still haven't found a solution:

why do you keep using your ghost backup???
when your screen goes blank that is only X fscking up. just hit
ctrl-alt-Fn to go to a console and either restart (shutdown -r now) or
kill the hanged session.
you didn't mention if you did select your video chipset. mostly that is
the problem choosing the wrong or not choosing any chipset plus a using
32-bit instead of 16-bit res.
run Xconfigurator again and choose your video chipset and then do what
you did before but this time loose that ghost backup. just do a
ctrl-alt-Fn to go to a console and then restart. give us feedback.

This looks as if it would explain but one thing I did was when X fucked
up again and my screen started turning white I pressed ctrl-alt-Fn and
it didn't do crap. Not only that but since I'm using FreeBSD instead of
Linux I can't use Xconfigurator. I'm starting to get a little irritated
here so anyone that could help me out I would appreciate it greatly.

It never got fixed, I thought I fixed it but I didn't. I made a
.xinitrc file in my home dir instead and put the 'exec startkde' in
there instead of changing the line in the .xinitrc in the
/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xinit/ directory. I thought that fixed it but after
going into KDE a few more times after trying to quit my whole screen
slowly went white again. Ideas?

what was the problem?
tell us how you fixed it, so it goes in the mailing list archives, and
the
next guy can read it when he does a Google search. :)
