can you try swapping in a different video board?

Unfortunately no.  The machine is what I thought was a nifty little box, but I'm quickly loosing faith in it.  It's an intel machine, with some rather frightening limitations.  Everything is built to the mainboard, video, modem, audio, and USB.  No PS/2 ports, no parallel ports, only 1 serial port.  I can't seem to get the system to access a framebuffer (which I had hoped would solve the problem).  Although I know I saw the penguin once, I can't seem to get it to recompile correctly to access the VESA Framebuffer.

Thanks,
Lee
