This is not much info... your XF86Config-4 (assuming you are really running 4.0.3 -which is what you get with RH7.1 in adition to 3.3.6) and a log would help what you see with 800x600 and 640x480 is the *normal* display on a lcd screen when you are running at a lower resolution. I don't know your machine but assuming the screen is 1024x768 then you have 112 pixel not addressed right and left of the 800x600 display. since 800x600 works I assume that there is not that much missing to get 1024x768, I suspect you don't need chassing sync specs and the like. First check that you are really running 4.0.3 by doing X -version (you can also chek the log, it's printed on top, the log is /var/log/XFree86.0.log) If for some strange reason you were to be running 3.3.6 then post /etc/X11/XF86Config otherwise post /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 Lionel --- Michael Derksen <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > I'll try and give as much information as I can, so if I overstate, just ignore it. > > Laptop is a Winbook J1 with a 1GHz Pentium3.
