Hello,
Living in Japan, I have received a quite old PC to install Linux on and
although the installation went flawlessly even in graphical mode with a
RedHat 7.2 JP, I did not manage to get a graphical mode running after
install.
The PC is a Hitachi Flora Model PCT-310T16E.
The monitor is INTEGRATED into the PC and I used read-edid but
cannot get any information about the monitor this way although
i found out in the log left by the X server that it finds a native lcd
panel.
The symptoms:
- did not manage to get ANY mode but 24bit running and even 24bit has
trouble
- the 8 and 16 bit mode fail miserably and all I have on screen are
repeated band of pixels that more or less reproduce the first 200 columns
for 8 bits and 400 colums for 16 bits....
- A picture taken with a digital camera show what happens even in 24 bits:
the picture although stable vertically smears horizontally. You can look
