This is regretably not always the case: some distro use XF86Config for X 4.x.x a way to identify whether an XF86Config is for X 4.x.x is to check whther there is a section inputdevice (X 4.x.x) rather than a section keyboard or pointer (X 3.3.6) In the post it seems to be OK for X 4.x.x Lionel
