What does having the outline achieve? I have created by my own this kind of imagery outlines. "Just look at the imagery" is non really as convenient, it will display only if the view is close enough. But then you do not see the big zone covered by the imagery. In addition, with ADSL 256k and limited amount of data transfer per month it is much more convenient to just be able to see the boundaries. > So given that it does some harm, and appears to have no benefit, that's > why I'm against outlines appearing in the main DB. IMHO it does not more harm as the other data in OSM, but it has some real benefit for some contributors. > By all means save > them as .osm files and save them on the wiki or in SVN, but not in the DB. It could be possible, but right in the database it is available for everyone without any additional steps. -- Sincerely Hendrik Oesterlin - email [email protected] _______________________________________________ newbies mailing list [email protected] http://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/newbies
