Sorry for the frequent posts... I really should unify my replies. Anyway, I have been pleased with the "Rute User's Tutorial and Exposition" by Paul Sheer. It is clearly written and does a good job of introducing the fundamentals. I've been working my way through slowly and have learned a lot. Go to http://www.icon.co.za/~psheer/book/index.html.gz to get it. By "get" I mean download for free, not buy. Interesting how free stuff is often better than the for-sale stuff. Someone should do that for software :-)
