Solution: keep the grub.conf || lilo.conf on the /boot partition, and symlink to it to the appropriate places in /etc > Also, is it really smart to use the same home dir for each? Just make sure you have the same (or very close to) versions of the software, and you'll be okay. If not, well, make sure you have at least one large directory to keep most everything in. One other caveat to the unified /home dir that could be a major hang-up: make sure your userid (numerical) is the same between all three distros.
