MONTENEGRIN PRESDENT MET WITH MONTGOMERY:
AMERICAN GOVERNMENT SUPPORTS MONTENEGRO
PODGORICA - Montenegrin President Milo Djukanovic met yesterday in Podgorica
with American Ambassador in Belgrade William Montgomery.
The United States will support dialog between Montenegro and all relevant
political forces in Serbia - American Ambassador pointed out. He promised
continuing economic assistance to Montenegrin reforms and democratic
processes.
Montenegro will remain reliable partner of the US and of the International
Community in their attempt to establish the economic and political stability
in the Balkans - Montenegrin President said.
FEDERAL MPS' TO MEET TODAY IN PODGORICA
ACCEPTANCE OF THE HAGUE LAW UNCERTAIN
PODGORICA - The Federal Parliament MPS belonging to Montenegrin opposition
Socialists Peoples Party ( SNP ), with right of vote in the Lower and the
Upper House, will meet in Podgorica today before the crucial Federal
parliament's session about controversial Law on Yugoslavia's cooperation
with the Hague Tribunal.
SNP with 28 MPS in the Lower House and 19 in the Upper House represents the
strongest party in the Federal Parliament, which will meet on Thursday in an
attempt to adopt the Federal Government's Draft Law on cooperation with the
Hague Tribunal.
On Thursday the Federal Government accepted by majority vote the Draft Law
which transfers the jurisdiction for extradition of Yugoslav citizens to the
Hague to the Governments of Montenegro and Serbia and to their legislative
bodies.
SNP has repeated several times that its MPSin the Federal Parliament will
not support this Law because they are against extradition of FRY citizens.
SNP said it would also refuse secret ballot in the Federal Parliament's
session "in order to avoid eventual speculations".
PARLIAMENT SPEAKER- VESNA PEROVIC:
LIBERALS SUPPORT REFERENDUM BUT NOT ANY OTHER GOVERNMENT'S DECISIONS
PODGORICA - The Liberal Alliance (LSCG) supports the Montenegrin minority
Government of the ruling Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) and its junior
partner Social-democratic party only in matters concerning DPS's public
obligation to schedule the Independence Referendum within nine months -
Montenegrin Parliament's Speaker Vesna Perovic said.
She emphasized that this support did not necessarily refer to other matters,
which could be raised by the Government.
The Liberals will insist to be thoroughly informed about the daily work of
the Government so that they could prevent any possible abuse of their
support - she added.

PODGORICA - Predsjednik Crne Gore Milo Djukanovic primio je juce u Podgorici
ambasadora SAD u Beogradu Vilijama Montgomerija.
Ambasador Montgomeri je istakao da ce SAD pozdraviti dijalog Crne Gore sa
svim relevantnim faktorima Srbije i pruziti podrsku, ukljucujuci i
ekonomsku pomoc, reformama i demokratskom kursu Crne Gore.
Predsjednik Djukanovic je istakao da ce Crna Gora i dalje biti pouzdan
partner SAD i medjunarodne zajednice u ostvarivanju strategije za ekonomsku
i politicku obnovu na Balkanu.
SASTANAK SAVEZNIH POSLANIKA SNP-a U PODGORICI
USVAJANJE ZAKONA O HAGU NEIZVJESNO
PODGORICA - Sefovi poslanickih klubova opozicione crnogorske Socijalisticke
narodne partije ( SNP ) u vijecima gradjana i republika Saveznog parlamenta
su za danas u Podgorici zakazali sastanak federalnih poslanika ove partije.
SNP ima 28 poslanika u Vijecu gradjana i 19 u Vijecu republika i politicki
je najjaca stranka u federalnom parlamentu, koji ce se sastati u cetvrtak,
kada ce savezni poslanici raspravljati o Vladinom predlogu zakona o saradnji
SRJ sa Haskim tribunalom.
Federalna vlada je u cetvrtak usvojila DOS-ov nacrt zakona koji
podrazumijeva da Vlade Crne Gore i Srbije budu nadlezne za izrucivanje
svojih gradjana.
SNP, koja je vise puta ponovila da njeni poslanici nece podrzati predlozeni
zakon jer se protive izrucenju jugoslovenskih drzavljana, ce takodje
insistirati na javnom glasanju da "bi se izbjegle spekulacije".
PREDSJEDNIK SKUPSTINE - VESNA PEROVIC:
REFERENDUM USLOV ZA PODRSKU VLADI
PODGORICA - Predsjednik Skupstine Crne Gore Vesna Perovic izjavila je da se
podrska Liberalnog saveza manjinskoj vladi Demokratske partije socijalista
(DPS) i Sicjaldemokratske partije ( SDP ) odnosi na obavezu DPS-a da u roku
od devet mjeseci raspise referendum o nezavisnosti.
Perovic je naglasila da se podska ne odnosi na sve ostale teme koje bi
eventualno vlada mogla pokrenuti. Liberali ce insistirati da uvijek budu
upoznati sa radom vlade kao bi sprijecili da njihova podrska bide
zloupotrijebljena - dodala je ona.
