The only problem with dropping the bike that much (other than the low ground clearance) would be that you'd want to lower the suspension up front as well. The geometry of the bike should be kept as close to stock as possible. By geometry, I mean the different angles (rake, trail, etc) and how they relate to each other, not necessarily the ride height itself.
