If the $250 includes installation, it's reasonable. Buy the best you can afford. Next to tires, a reliable chain/sprocket combo is money well spent. No telling what mayhem could result if one breaks while the bike is in motion. Never seen or heard of that happening, but I can imagine the result is not pretty.
