I actually saw a chain break, guy on a Harley and he was under hard acceleration. Chain went flying forward, he let off the gas, lifted his leg, and the chain got his pants, but no blood, so it probably didn't cut but may have bruised it a bit. He coasted off the road. Sproket cover was broken... That was not too bad. Mine broke on my 350, from me popping wheelies with it: only in first gear. It was so light, powerful and easily lifted up, so I had fun. My girl friend at the time would get off and watch until I had my fun, and then get back on. She loved riding, but not the wheelies, although later on she sat on with me. She began to like it. That was a while after the chain broke, when I had to walk the bike back to the barracks (I was in the Air Force), and her back to her folks' house. If her dad would have known she was riding my motorcycle with me on the back instead of driving, he would have killed me...

Buy the best you can afford. Next to tires, a reliable chain/sprocket combo is money well spent. No telling what mayhem could result if one breaks while the bike is in motion. Never seen or heard of that happening, but I can imagine the result is not pretty. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo!
