I think it might be possible to get the tire in/out without removing the shock if you deflated it. I haven't tried it, but it looks possible. The 2nd time I did it I ziptied it before unbolting it and it went back in pretty easy. Get the giant government strength zipties back by the HVAC ducts at home depot.
