I replaced my Tires about Two Months ago. When I removed the Rear Tire to Change I also Replaced the Rear Brakes and Removed the Shaft Drive Unit from my 550 Nighthawk to lube the Splines. I had to loosen the Bottom Bolt of the Left Rear Shock and swing the Shock up out of the way to get the Shaft Drive Unit out. My Shock never expanded and everything went back together ok with no Problems. Steve...................................
