I hope this doesn't get as heated as a favorite oil thread, but what does everyone think about Lane Splitting? There's actually a state bill in TX slowly making its way through Austin to legalize it here. The rules are that both rider and passenger must wear a helmet, the rider must not go more than 5mph faster than the cars it is passing, traffic must not be doing more than 20mph, and you can't do it in a school zone. I'd be worried that a door would open, or some jack would try to cut me off just to be a jerk, but at the same time sitting in gridlock on an air-cooled bike constantly working the clutch in an out can be a pain.
