LOL, yes Kyle, indeed, there are laws but nobody gives a dam (unfortunately). I ear people complaining about but traffic here and I can't avoid laughing a little bit. After 3 years living in the US me and my wife when home for Christmas and she couldn't drive there anymore. So, again, I feel very comfortable driving 2 or 4 wheels in this country, although there is always some jerk that put your live in danger. Talking about these laws, and passing on the shoulder, I remember something that happened to me during the summer: I am sitting on very slow traffic on the highway coming back from work. It is very hot and traffic is bad, so everyone is cranky. I am on the right-most lane when I realize that my helmet chin strip is loose. Adding to that I am cooking myself with a leather jacket so I decide to pull over on the shoulder to take it off and fasten my helmet. There is this old lady in a sedan in front of me, obviously angry with the traffic, who saw me making the move to the right to take the shoulder, and I guess she though I was trying to pass her. Immediately she hits the brakes, makes a hard right turn to block me (on the shoulder lane), while she is honking, screaming and waving her hands like crazy. She realizes she almost hit me (adding that I almost drop my NH), then she quickly returns to her lane almost hitting another car. Would I have tried to actually make a fast move along the shoulder (legal or not), I would probably be injured or dead right now.
At the end, you only need one crazy SOB to get you killed. To all you, my friends, be safe. Javier.
