Gee, are cables for that still available ? I haven't checked in a long time. Scuffing on the jackets is not a problem. There is a really neat method used by the English to lube cables. I can write it out if you want to know.

I read somewhere on the web, that soaking the carbs in boiling lemon water for about 20 minutes would externally clean them right up....so...what do y'all think....would y'all recommend this method or not....would/could anything get damaged by this method? second, I was setting the carb assembly upright to check for leaks and kinda noticed that the throttle cables are a bit on the worn side...looks like they're the originals from back in 1984...so should/ can I go ahead and replace them or just give them a good cable cleaning/lubricating? any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated....thanks guys!
