Uh, Kim - yours was an exception, sort of. They were just O.K. Better than some of the competition and they did not sacrifice as much in quality so the inflation crunch got them. We did have more inflation after the war. As for looks - ever notice that old Dodge Darts and Novas are similar? It's like they were all sharing body panels. It takes time and lotsa money to tool up for something that is absolutely new, like the Tucker. Way ahead of its time. Jay Leno did a video demo driving one of his and was tooling along in traffic at 80 - 90 mph like it was nothing. Back then, Chevvys and Dodges only went about 40. No positive oil system at that time...
