Part of the reason that it took me so long to find a helmet is that I didn't even bother trying the Shoeis (Shoeii?) on due to their price. Finally I found one on sale at cycle gear. Plain gloss black, no modular, no funky vents, but it was under $300 which is rare for a Shoei. I tried it on and it fit like a glove, err, helmet. Perfect length wise (no ballpeen hammers needed ;) and fit me side to side at the same time so it's not shuffling around. I would have liked a modular maybe, but I can wear this one for hours and hours with no real discomfort. $20 in tail-section decals later, and the helmet matches my bike perfectly. I'm happy with it.
