0.1 = 1/10(one tenth);
0.10 =  10/100(ten hundredths);
Carried to the extreme: 0.100 = 100/10,000.(100 thousandths)
0.01 = 1/100;(one hundredth)
0.015 = 15/1000 (15 thousandths)
0.00123 = 123/10,000 (123 ten thousandths)

And I don't think that clears up a damn thing!

        If you were t o write 0.10, that is one tenth of an inch; 0 .01 is
one hundredth; therefore, is not 0.011, eleven hundredths? And 0.0011,
eleven thousandths?

          Dennis:

          If 0.005 is five thousandths (agree) then 0.011 is eleven thousandths
          not eleven hundreths. eleven hundreths would be 0.11

          The diammeters I reported were written on the labels and then
          confirmed by my mic. I passed a 0.013 inch wire ( measured and
          printed on the label) through a #38 jet.
