Safely is a good term... I like it...a lot. EVERYBODY wants a big FAT tire. It's that Harley look thing. The answer is simple.. not.. Rims and tires compliment each other. Putting a wider tire on a rim not intended for it actually gives you less contact than the original. That's because the tread is not flat on a motorcycle tire. It's rounded. A narrow rim pinches the tire and makes it even more rounded. less contact, less braking available.
