If it's the same thing I'm thinking of then that "*might" *the breathers for
the back side of the diaphragms. I've got pictures of mine at
http://munz.kicks-ass.net/nighthawk/?p=242.  They confused me too because I
only had the T-joints between the carbs and no hoses on my bike. Apparently
Honda just attached hoses on them to try to keep some crud out, blocking
them would stall the bike because the needle adjusted by that diaphragm
would no longer be able to adjust.
