That's part of the reason I'm going via ferry. There are a lot of islands we'll be passing on the trip to Sandusky and approaching the city after dark should be fun too. This one actually doesn't allow you access to your vehicle during the trip. I'm a little mixed on that, I just hope they don't make me get off so they can park it....
