If you're riding on the big ferry's they will move the bikes to load together. I did 2 ferry crossings to and from Victoria BC. On the older Ferry they had us tie our bikes to the wall - I have a picture somewhere. It was basically to keep them from sliding around it we ran into rough water. We didn't, no problems.
On the trip from Ninimo to Vancouver they had blocks that we put under our bikes on the opposite side of the kick stand. I was a bit confused but another rider next to me helped me set it up. It worked amazingly well. The ride was rougher than the other ferry but bike didn't move an inch. This summer I was in a box (car) on a few of the free ferry's in western Canada. These were short lake crossings with little or no waves. The ferry crews just had the bike park mixed in with the cars. No problems. So my point is follow the directions of the ferry staff - they know what they're doing. Sean On Sep 10, 8:23 am, Stumpi <[email protected]> wrote: > So who here has done a ferry crossing on a bike?
