They aren't very heavy lubricants, no. They're mostly designed for use in it's "rust penetrant" function. The solvent carries in the lubricants, does it's thing on the rust there, and when it evaporates away you have a very thin film of lubricant where the solvent was. This helps you break the part free, in theory.
