Sean, I've had several of them - great bikes. I found them too low
geared - from the GS650 up through the GS1100. Look for all the
usual things - front fork seals, engine noises, rust in the tank, it
should idle evenly and a good one can idle very low, evenly. I find
the handle bars are awkward, sweeping back almost as though I could
do press ups on them. They do well on good tires. 24k miles means ,
depending on how it was maintained, that you need to listen to the
engine real good, maybe do a compression check, depending on how it
idles. Couldn't find the bike on Craigslist, Graham

I've been looking for a touring bike in the Portland area for my
summer road trips. I came across a 1882 Suzuki GS1100GK on Craigslist
for $1,600 with 24,000 miles on it. I've always liked that era GS1100
and didn't even know about the touring model. I've read several
reviews and as is typical - some love the bike and some not so much.
Anyone know anything about these bikes? Anything I should be
concerned about?
Here's the CL ad: http://portland.craigslist.org/mlt/mcy/
