The valve cover is off because the previous owner was trying to find the knocking sound he was hearing. I turned the engine over a couple times when I got it home but I couldn't hear a knock anywhere for the life of me. I'm thinking I'm going to get it back together and sealed/ oiled up to see how the knock sounds (if there is one) while its running. With just over 3,000 miles, I have a hard time believing anything inside the engine is critically wrong - though it has been sitting since 1991...
