How long before you bought it had it been not running?  Check the inside of
the gas tank for rust. Did you put fresh gas in it?  If not, do so. Remove
the spark plugs and clean them or replace them.  Check the crank case oil. 
If the bike had been sitting for a while, there may be gas mixed with the
oil.  Should change the oil and filter any way,  Graham
