I don't have the manual for that plug either Javier (1991 - 2003
CB750 NH). Ask me something out of the 650 manual or the 700 manual
or the Kawasaki manuals or Suzuki GS model manuals or the Yamaha
Maxim manuals ......

Don't have the Clymer manual here at work, will look tonite and

I wondered why it's plastic, too, but then again the oil cap on the
other side of the bike is plastic, too. Maybe it holds better as
the oil heats up? Anyone know for sure?

Thanks Lie. I will go to the plumbing section to see if I can find a
temporal replacement. What I don't understand is why it has to be
a plastic
cap? I can't find any particular reason. What is the spec torque
for this
thing?
Javier.

It took a LOT of will power to torque it down to spec once I had
it on the
bike, visions of another split were dancing through my head, but
it torqued
down fine.
I have no idea what kind of pressure builds up under the cap
(it's plastic
after all) so maybe some cork or a bit of hardening putty might
work, but
personally, I'd just go for the new cap.

Today I took my 96 750 to work. Got here and leave it on the
side stand. I
just went to the parking lot and most of the oil is on the floor.
Apparently, my "don't open" cap, which I cracked like a year ago
and fixed
with super glue, has gave up and let the oil out. I touched and
it just
came
apart. I am pretty sure no local shop will have it on stock, so
I have to
wait few days. In the meanwhile, does anybody knows what else
can I use?
like a generic cap of the same size... which size would that be?
Lie, did you finally ordered yours or just super glued it?
Javier.

have you called the local honda dealer?
Guy on the phone at BikeBandit told me that the parts were at a
warehouse,
and wherever I got it from (online, dealer, etc) that the bike
is so old
that it's *very* unlikely anyone would have it in stock, and
I'd have to
wait for Honda to ship it to them, and then get it from them,
and there's
no
close honda dealer that would be much faster than 2-day UPS.
Honda is
the
bottleneck, and the ones charging absurd prices for OEM parts
($50 for a
fuel hose -- really???).
