Does the bike run like crap? You may have some plug wires crossed so that a 
cylinder or two isn't firing and the unburnt fuel is traveling out the exhaust 
and igniting when it hits the hot exhaust from the other cylinders.

You could also have over- richened the mix which could cause similar issues. 
Are all four pipes heating up equally?
