For me it was forgetting to check that the kick stand was down before
dismounting. I would have to imagine other common drops/wrecks occur by:
Leaning the bike too far when doing a slow maneuver especially on a hill.
Hitting the brakes too hard and fast when in a turn.
Trailing too much brake going into a turn.
Not slowing enough BEFORE the turn.
Slippery road at a stop light especially when it just started to rain.
Wet leaves, gravel,oil spill, etc

Subject: [Nighthawk Lovers] Re: First Time Rider

I too tend to keep vehicles a long period of time which is why I am
undecided on either a 250 or 750. It use is mainly for commuting and
maybe a 200 mile jaunt to Mom's house. I am looking at a 2006 NH 250
with 2500 miles for $2200. What do you think? What is the common
mistake for new riders when they drop their bike?
Thanks for your responses.
