Thanks for the welcome! The year was a typo, it's a 92. I'll have a
manual shortly.
The problem is for sure inside the case, and getting there looks
formidable.
I've owned several 750s, beginning in about 1970 and recall opening
the case once. I can't remember enough of the shifter mechanism to
picture an explanation though.
