I've melted the flat fuse by the starter relay when jumping it in the past.  
lost a lot of functions when that happens.

The moral of this story is that jump starting = bad news for a bike. Even if it 
is from a 12V system you can have problems. These bikes are light enough to 
push start without too much trouble.
