You can swiss cheese the heck out of it and it will be fine all you really need
is the plate at the end. Total removal is too loud.

Subject: [Nighthawk Lovers] www.nighthawk750.com is down

Hey guys,

Just bought a '93 Nighthawk a few weeks ago and was looking around
online to see if I could do something for the exhaust without spending
$350 (the bike was only $1500!). Unfortunately the www.nighthawk750.com
site appears to be down now. :(

I saw some brief instructions on this thread for the washer mod and
found a youtube video for the hodge exhaust mod. I think i'm going to
try them out soon...

Any thoughts on drilling larger holes in the exhaust (1/2 or 5/8th
inch) for a deeper growl?

Also, my cousin, who is very mechanically inclined (I'm somewhat), was
recommending I remove the baffles entirely and have a shop tack weld
in a piece of steel into the muffler to maintain back pressure. I kind
of like this idea because I'm really looking for as much noise and
rumble as possible.

This is a commuter bike and I want people to hear me coming on the San
Diego freeways...

Thanks!
Ryan

PS Any replies are appreciated. I will report back on what I find once
I apply the mods. It will probably be a couple weeks. Thanks again!
