Drew ` I also have a '85 CB650SC and it truely is a nice bike. Mine has 13,000 miles. It ran sort of OK when I bought it some time ago but needed some cosmetic work and some minor mechanical. It has been painted (stock red), all the chrome and polished metal removed, cleaned and polished properly, some aftermarket parts discarded, some OEM extras found and being added. Time to put it together this summer. The fuel gauge is typical Honda I think. At least it is similar to my '94 PC800 in that the sensor is a float moving a varible resistor. As the float plate is bolted on the bottom of the tank it is a bit of a task to reset. When I get to doing mine, before the tank is installed I think Ill get a couple liters of gas in the tank ,put a couple bolts in the cover and see what ir reads when upright. Pick a spot where you want the gauge to read (probably 1/8), invert, remove the gauge, bend the wire arm to the float. Repeat as necessary. I did the same trick on my PC years ago and it works very well. Of course I also use the trip meter just in case. If you need further info or information, please let me know.

G’day from downunder. This is my 1985 Nighthawk 650sc - very rare in Australia (perhaps only one of two that I know of). It is not concourse but easily immaculate and would almost certainly win best unrestored classic (over 25 years old) in any bike show around. The bike has only done 2968 miles or for the metric amongst us 4776 kilometres. This bike number 14 for me (including a 1982 CB750F2 supersport) and it rides better than ALL of them. I like it so much and only ride it on cruises so I think it will still be around in a decade or so. __________________________________________________ I HAVE ONE QUESTION... it is the only issue I have had with the bike. The digital fuel gauge is not accurate. It registers full when it should but goes down too slow so it still registers 3/4 when it hits reserve. Has anyone ever come across this problem before and how do you fix it. Thanks Drew -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Nighthawk Motorcycle Lovers!" group.
