The "reserve tank" is actually a straw that sticks a few inches up into the tank when the petcock is in the "ON" position. In the "RES" position it's sucking directly off the bottom. Also, I'm not sure about the 450, but my 650 and 700 have the vacuum actuated automatic shut off. If that vacuum line has fallen off it won't let any fuel flow. Another also, I know this is pretty basic, but I've been fooled by it more than once, make sure the Run/Off switch isn't Off.
