So, still in the process of acquiring all the parts I need for my total-rebuild, CB650SC Nighthawk edition. Part of this is going to be cleaning, refinishing and repairing all the things. This will require gaskets.
I can get a complete engine gasket set from Vesrah, for a pretty good price at $125 for all the myriad engine seals, but the driveshaft/swingarm/final drive seals are, well, "discontinued." Now, I see this as having two options, which do you folks like best: Option 1: Pulp Option. Buy gasket paper, carefully trace gasketed surfaces, cut gasket paper, install paper gasket with a little oil. Option 2: Gooey solution. Reach for the dreaded tube of RTV. Apply in thin layers, be very careful not to goop it into the gasketed cavities. Any other options? Much as I hate to say it, I'm inclined to go with the latter versus the former.... -Kurt -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Nighthawk Motorcycle Lovers!" group.
