A good bet in regards to oil is to use motorcycle specific oil. But that's expensive, so you can Look on the back of the oil at it's specifications, JASO rated oils have been certified for use with wet clutch as well. For example, shells rotella t 15w-30. Many oils have friction reducing additives, designed to improve gas milage which can cause slippage with your wet clutch. That being said, a synthetic oil that meets stndards for use with a wet clutch would be prime. Since we use aircooled high RPM engines, we will get more oil vaporization due to foaming then say a car. A synthetic, being less prone to foaming would in theory keep the engine cooler and vaporize less.
Cam chain and valve noise has a lot to do with oil as well, finding a good oil may reduce the sound. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Nighthawk Motorcycle Lovers!" group.
