Texas has had a proposed bill for a few years now to allow lane splitting during certain situations (traffic moving less than 25mph, rider not allowed to go more than 5mph over the common speed limit, must be wearing a helmet, not in a school zone, etc) but it's been stalled in the House since it was introduced. Even if it passed I'd probably wait a few years before trying it. Drivers here aren't used to it and would intentionally try cutting you off.
