To the point brought up about moving vs stopped traffic - if you've got a
pair of cars riding next to each other - its unlikely that one would simply
veer and hit you, since they'd also hit the car next to them. That having
been said, it is not legal up here and in Maine we generally don't have
enough traffic to warrant a significant reduction in traffic backup. For me
- the ideal reduction in congestion would be a group of riders in a stagger
- that would provide a relatively safe situation and reduce the congestion
since each bike takes approximately 1/3 the space of a car.
         I think in all things like this people can ruin it - it wouldn't
surprise me to find out that a bunch of people abused this and killed it
nation wide.
