Well, I'm planning on trying my hand at changing my own tires on the GS next weekend. I'll take pictures and let you all know how it goes. Here is what I'm planning on trying. Use a 2x4 to break the beads or maybe a C-clamp. Lashing straps/zip ties to get the tire on, and possibly off otherwise I'll just use a razor knife to cut the tire off. And a rope and funnel to balance. I'm sure it will take longer than if I spent the $200 for a cheepo tire stand, spoons, rim protectors, and a balance rig. I'm sure I'll get them later on but I just can't stomach anymore spending $50 to mount a tire to a wheel that I removed from the bike.
