One other thing brake fluid absorbs is paint. Take extra care to protect your 
front fender, gas tank and headlight areas from drips of it.  My buddy was 
helping me and put the reservoir cap on the headlight case and I ended up 
having to repaint it. It works as fast as paint stripper.

Thanks for the lesson everyone. I was aware that brake fluid would absorb 
moisture so I've never kept a bottle around for more than a month once its been 
open but I suppose in my case it was the lesser of two items. I'll be back if I 
need any additional advice, gotta get swapping. I suppose I should also be 
doing this to my 20 year old Camaro too.
