Ok guys did some work again before it started raining. This NYC weather is annoying, its either too hot, too cold or raining....
I told you guys before I connected the battery directly to the starter motor, the motor runs fine now that I cleaned it up. Finally it started working. I think it might have been a faulty clutch diode. That is supposed to tell the system that the clutch is being pressed so bypass the neutral or kickstand signal. I didn't know what gear the bike was on before I disassembled it so when I put it back together I put the neutral sensor wrong. That's why I had to press the clutch to start the motor. Now I've fixed the neutral switch and it finally after cranking for 3 more minutes, started. There are a few more problems I'll have to fix like the fact that it sounds like only 3 cylinders are firing. That shouldn't be difficult, its probably just a rusted spark plug connector and while I'm at it I'll sync the carbs. The other problem that made me think it's the clutch diode is that the turn signals don't work. No idea why it stopped working but its probably the circuit box for it. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Nighthawk Motorcycle Lovers!" group.
